ADAM THIELEN
ADP 28
Thielen had 63 REC - 686 YDS -10 TDS through his first 11 games last season
At that point he was WR7 and only 14 points behind Justin Jefferson
Then he was injured week 13 and missed 4 games. But over the past 2 seasons he has continued to produce with 24 TDs on 202 targets. Thielen will be 32 this season so his age and durability are both concerns
Also Irv Smith Jr is healthy and is expected to have a big role in the Vikings offense
With all that being said, Thielens repour with Kirk Cousins and feel for the endzone still give him major upside. Although he's no longer a fringe WR1 or a solid fantasy WR2. He's for sure a WR3 and a great flex option. The numbers don't show a steep decline but instead a steady consistency. And he's still an excellent possession receiver. You better believe that he will still get a great target share in Minnesota and have lots of opportunity to do what he does best, find the endzone.
FANTASY SPIN:
Thielen should be considered a WR3 with some WR2 UPSIDE and a great mid round value.
HUNTER RENFROW
ADP 30
Coming off of his best season 103 REC - 1038 YDS - 9 TDS
There's a lot of buzz out there that the arrival of Davante Adams will hurt Renfrow's production. I disagree, if anything I think it helps his production. Dealing with Adams is a nightmare for defenses. Renfrow should have more match up friendly opportunities this season.
Last year by default Renfrow became the No.1 WR for Derrek Carr and proved that he can handle the workload. Now Josh McDaniels is there, remember he had a great part in the development of Wes Welker and Julian Edleman.
Renfrow can now focus on his natural position in the slot and should excel and have another great season. Obviously his target share will go down some form last year but the production should be the same or even better.
He's definitely a WR3 or flex option and even a fringe WR2.
He has the trust and chemistry of his QB and is in a position to have a very big roll in the Raders offense.
FANTASY SPIN: Renfrow is a great mid round value pick.
GABRIEL DAVIS
ADP 31
Davis had 35 REC - 549 - 6 TDS
Now those numbers don't sound great, but in this case the numbers don't tell the whole story. Emanuel Sanders & Cole Beasley are gone. Davis is the true No.2 behind Diggs in an offense that can score 30 points on any given Sunday with one the best QBs in the league. Davis and Josh Allen already have chemistry and he has proven to be a big play guy. There are 186 targets that need to be filled with the absences if Beasley and Sanders.
Davis is coming into his 3rd season and is only going to get better.
As Josh Allen No.2 WR it should be easy for him to double his numbers from last year.
He should be on course to get 70 REC - 1000 YDS - 10-12 TDS
He's already shown signs of dominance with his 4 TD game in the playoffs vs the Chiefs.
He's poised to have a breakout year and at WR 31 he's under valued.
Josh Allen and the Bills will score a lot of points this season and Davis should have plenty of opportunity to thrive.
FANTASY SPIN: Davis should be considered a solid WR2 with low end WR1 potential. You would look for him in 6th - 8th rounds
ALLEN LAZARD
ADP 45
Lazard had 40 REC - 513 YDS - 8 TDS in 2021. That was with Davante Adams there.
He's the only option for Aaron Rogers other than maybe Aaron Jones, and let's not say what about Christian Watson, not that I think Watson is bad, I actually think he will be a very good receiver...but this is what
Aaron Rogers said...
"The young guys, especially young receivers, we've got to be way more consistent,"
"A lot of drops, a lot of bad route decisions, running the wrong route. We've got to get better in that area."
Remember Aaron Rogers isn't a warm and cuddly guy. You have to earn his trust and respect. And he's notorious for not liking rookies.
This is what Rogers had to say about Lazard...
“I really think Allen is ready to make a jump and be a No. 1 receiver,”
Lazard and Rogers have had a few seasons together now and Rogers trusts him, he believes that Lazard is a true No.1
That's all I need to hear. Allen Lazard is going to get the majority target share,
look for his numbers to double this season, he should easily get
80-100 REC - 1000 YDS AND 12-14 TDS.
Someone has to pick up those targets that Davante Adams left.
He had 12 endzone targets last year, that was 8th best in the league.
He's way under valued at WR 45 and he should be rostered in all leagues.
FANTASY SPIN: He should be a low end WR1 look to draft him in the 5th-7th rounds
