OK so week 8 was a crazy one for fantasy football we saw things like a new emerging dynamic duo come out of New York, we saw the best running back in the league get injured and be lost for the rest of the regular season and possibly even the playoffs we saw the Jets upset the number 1 Cincinnati Bengals, a lot of crazy things happened in week 8.
So let's get into the moves that you need to make for week 9!

Derrick Henry is the number one fantasy football running back and is probably the most important member to his team, more than any other running back in the league. So how do you replace a Derrick Henry? Short answer is... you don't.. There's no replacing his 23.04 fantasy points per game (FanDuel). But there are some available options out there.

Adrian Peterson has worked out for the Titans and he's been added to their roster. Adrian is getting up there in age (36) and hasn't played football all year so what to expect from him... who knows?? But one thing I do know about Adrian Peterson is that he is a baller, he's gonna go out there run hard and give you a 110% all the time. Adrian has defied the laws of aging... and if anyone can bounce back and help a team out right away it's Adrian Peterson. But with all that being said I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in Adrian, we have no idea how they're gonna use him or how long it will take for him to learn the system. I would probably look elsewhere to address my RB1 situation. But its not a bad idea to pick him up quickly and stash him on your bench. Just don't be like the guy in one of my leagues that dropped Mark Andrews to get him....Ouch!!!!

Jeremy McNichols, well actually there's not much to see...he has a total of 7 carries this season 38 yds rushing 5.4 yds per carry, 21 receptions 233 yds and a touchdown. So there's not much there. Tennessee uses Derrick Henry as a true bell cow so what are they gonna do moving forward? Are they gonna go RB by committee, can Jeremy McNichols be a guy that they can count on to take the ball 25 times a game? We won't know until after the 1st couple of weeks without Henry. It's not a bad idea to grab McNichols put him on your bench and see how the Titans are gonna use him, because you may have a diamond in the rough or you may have a piece of coal. It's too early to tell... But I would grab him and stick him on my bench and wait and see because the Titans offense is built around a strong running game.

Jordan Howard is out there he had a strong weekend but we can't count on the Eagles backfield... it's like a mystery, you never know who they're going to feature and the bottom line is they're not very good. So you're really throwing darts if you go after a guy like that. Jordan Howard did have a good week 8 though.

Melvin Gordon is player that you may want to target in a trade he's in a time share with Javonte Williams but he would be a good alternative to nothing. You may want to offer a WR2 or possibly a TE to see if you can get him.
In summary there's no real easy answer or replacement for Derrick Henry if you lost Henry in your year round league you are probably a playoff type team....hopefully you have enough on your roster to sustain a loss like that but if not I would look at all my opponents rosters in the league and identify a weakness where I have a strength, and try to make a deal to get a running back. The trade deadline is coming up in a couple of weeks so you don't have much time. Also be all over the injury report and the waiver wire because you never know when the next guy is going to go down and open up a spot.
Good luck out there!!
