The Cardinals once again started RB Eno Benjamin in Sunday's 2nd preseason game against Baltimore. This matched the opening of their 1st exhibition. The difference this time was Darrel Williams also getting into the game. He was a healthy scratch the 1st time around. Benjamin opened with the "starting" offense, which still lacked most of the 1st-team players. He got all the RB work on the team's 1st drive and logged 21 snaps to Williams' 4. Williams entered for the 2nd drive and got his only opportunity of the game (a carry). Neither guy played beyond the 1st quarter. One could read this as Benjamin working ahead of Williams. But the large discrepancy in snaps played could also indicate that the Cardinals don't believe they need to see as much from Williams in game action as they do Benjamin. Ultimately, this remains an unclear backup situation behind James Conner, who appears headed for workhorse duty.
